Divided out of 778,049 [Group XVIII Class 117 Apparatus for feeding cardboard blanks from the bottom of a stack thereof comprises displacing means 581, 586, to move the upper blanks as a stack relatively to the bottom blank to offset the latter, support means 964 and 580 for supporting the front and rear edges of the offset bottom blank and displaceable so as to release said edges, and compressing means 558, 1158 to cause a bowing of said offset blank to allow it to fall from said stack. As shown (Fig. 2), the stack of blanks rests on front and rear shelves 580, 964. In sequence (Figs. 2-4): pusher 581 advances from the left till it meets the stack 12; pushers 581, 586 move together to displace the stack to the right leaving the lowermost blank held by fixed blade 558; and shelf 964 moves to the right to allow the lowermost blank to fall. This latter blank is still supported at its sides (Fig. 10), by rolls 558, 1158, the fingers of which rotate to engage the said sides of the blank and to bend the blank till it falls on to an intermittently-operated conveyer chain 1100, the lugs 185 of which convey under guide fingers 827 and 1099 and beneath clamping plate 842 which is operated intermittently by cam 851 on main shaft 600 so as to engage the rear panel of the blank. Shaft 600 is the common drive, through gearing, for the various operating members of the apparatus.
