Abstract
778,003. Coffee percolators. SAMBONET SOC. PER AZIONI. May 10. 1955 [Nov. 6, 1954], No. 13441/55. Class 129. A coffee percolator comprises an inner container 2 with a perforated lower wall 6 supported on an outer container 1, their edges being separated by a gasket 4 and wall 6 being close to the bottom of container 1. Ground coffee and water are placed respectively in the lower and upper portions of the inner container and a small quantity of water is placed in the outer container which is heated directly. A filter 8 is placed on top of the coffee. Vaporization of the water in the outer container heats the water in the inner container. When the heat supply to the outer container is cut off a partial vacuum is produced which draws the water from the inner container through the coffee into the outer container.
