Abstract

777,849. Two-part couplings. D. S. PLUGS, Ltd. Aug. 2, 1955 [Aug. 10, 1954], No. 23151/54. Class 38 (1). A switch has contacts mounted on a drawerlike member slidable in an enclosing frame from which it is completely removable, the frame having fixed contacts and a spring plunger, the contacts on the drawer being forced between the fixed contacts against the action of the plunger and held in such position by a catch turned by a handle which when released allows the plunger to eject the drawer to break the circuit. Contacts 17, 18 joined by a fuse 20 and carried by a block 19 on the drawer 16, co-operate with fixed contacts 13, 14. The front 25 of the drawer has a handle 26 which can be turned to engage a pin 28 behind the front 11 of the frame to hold the switch closed against the action of the spring plunger 22. According to the Provisional Specification the plunger is carried by the drawer.
