Abstract

777,733. Band clips. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Ltd. Sept. 1, 1955 [Sept. 16, 1954], No. 26908/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XIX] A fastening includes a strap 1 restrained against movement in one sideways direction and a link pivotally connected between the end of the strap and an adjusting member 8 capable of movement in substantially the said sideways direction to increase the acute angle between the direction of the length of the strap and the direction of a line joining the pivots on the link and thus to adjust the tightness of the fastening by moving the end of the strap lengthwise, which member is screw-threaded on an axis extending in the said sideways direction. In the construction shown both ends of the strap are connected to the member 8 by links 7, 9 each end of the strap being provided with lugs 2 to each of which is pivotally connected one of the links 7, 9. The fastening is intended for mounting an instrument on to a panel, the instrument being passed through a hole in the panel and the fastening being on the underside of the panel, The fastening is connected to the panel by a screw 5 which engages a nut 3 attached to the strap in a position diametrically opposite the gap between the two ends. A screw 10 also passes through the panel and engages a screw-threaded hole in the member 8 and when the screw is rotated the member 8 is drawn towards the panel and pulls the ends of the strap together to clamp the instrument to the panel. In a modification the member 8 is provided with a screw which passes through a hole in the panel and the end of which is engaged by a nut.
