Abstract

1533412 Clamp R A H HEARD 9 April 1976 [17 April 1975 16 June 1975] 15963/75 and 25618/75 Heading E2B A clamp for securing a sign board 36 to a post 42 comprises a saddle 10 and attachment members 12, which members serve as anchors for a band 34 encompassing the post and as fixing members for fixing the saddle to a channel 38 attached to the sign. Prior to use the attachment members 12 are assembled to the saddle 10 by locating the body parts 24 between the side members 16 with the stem 26 projecting through the space in the base member 14 left by turning up flanges 20. The flanges 20 provide an abutment on one side of the attachment members, and the lugs 22 are turned mutually inwardly at each end of the saddle to provide a counter abutment for loosely retaining the attachment members in the region of the stem portion 26 thereof. The saddle is mounted to the channel 38 at the back of the sign by inserting the heads 28 of the attachment members into one end of the channel and sliding the device along the channel. The ends of the strap 34 are threaded through the slots 32 in the attachment members, taken around the post 42 and secured with a tensioning buckle 44.
