Abstract

The branch pipe is attached to a main pipe (1) by means of a boss (5) with a saddle shaped base (7). The saddle has a recess for a gasket (9) which fits around the hole (18) in the wall of the main pipe. The boss has notches (15) on each side which receive pins (14) for the attachment of the strap (2) which surrounds the main pipe. A screed boss (25) is attached to the middle of the strap and a screw (26) is screwed into the boss in order to create a tension in the strap to secure the opposite boss.
