Abstract

777,632. Cathode-ray tube mountings. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Feb. 18, 1955 [Feb. 26, 1954], No. 4932/55. Class 40(7) A mounting for a television receiver tube comprises a supporting block 22 mounted upon a chassis 25, a pair of support pieces 8 mounted on the block and movable horizontally at right angles with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tube (by slots at points marked 20), a horizontal slot 13 in each support piece, a clip 5 which has two limbs 12 each parallel to an adjacent support piece and which is attached to the neck of the tube so that a slot 16 in each limb is at right angles to a slot 13, and a clamp 10, 14 which passes through adjacent slots 13, 16 to clamp the clips in the required relation to a support piece. The arrangement, permits translatory adjustment in three dimensions as well as rotatory adjustment about the tube axis and transverse axis 10. In a modification, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), the support pieces 8 are joined by a shielding strap passing above the tube neck, and the limbs 12 project-axially from a disc supporting the deflecting coils and also engaging the tube neck.
