Abstract

866,494. Television. COMMUNICATIONS PATENTS Ltd. Sept. 4, 1957, No. 27923/57. Class 40(3) In a television receiver, a housing 17 for the electrical components and viewing screen 18 is carried by a platform 13 which is attached to a support structure 7 by means of a parallel link system 8, 9 whereby the housing (and hence also the viewing screen) may be raised from a low position, Fig. 1, to a higher position, Fig. 2, a spring 15 serving to assist the movement. A catch 20 is provided to retain the assembly in the elevated position. A dashpot means may be associated with the link system to restrain the action of spring 15. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the parallel link system is attached directly to housing 17.
