Abstract

833,353. Television. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. April 20, 1956, No. 12125/56. Class 40 (3). A television receiver incorporating a flattype of cathode-ray tube 3 comprises a cabinet structure 1 housing the audio and video components and provided at the rear with a recessed portion 2 in which the tube is contained when not in use (Fig. 2) and from which it may be raised to a viewing position as shown in Fig. 1, either manually or by means of an electro-hydraulic system 9, 13, 14, 15, Fig. 3, or a rack-and-pinion arrangement 20, 22 driven by an electric motor 21. Specifications 794,257 and 801,841 are referred to.
