Abstract

770,540. Band clips. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES. Ltd. June 4, 1954 [June 10, 1953], No. 16609/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XL(c)] In an arrangement for mounting a cathoderay tube 1 in a television receiver (see Group XL (c)), the bulb of the tube is clamped to the chassis 2 by means of an adjustable metallic belt 22, Figs. 7 and 8, which comprises two flexible metallic straps 26, 27 joined together by a fastening 30 and the outer end of each strap is attached to chassis 2 by a projecting tongue thereon 31 or 32, which engages a rectangular aperture 28 or 28<SP>1</SP> at the end of the strap. The fastening 30 comprises two brackets 33, 34 joined together by a screw 35 and nut 54 and each bracket has a projecting tongue 36 or 37 which engages a rectangular aperture 29 or 29<SP>1</SP> in strap 26 or 27. Each bracket 33, 34 may also include a small projecting tongue 58 acting as a stop. In a modification, Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown), the base portion of bracket 33 fits on top of strap 26 with tongue 36 projecting downwards and there are a plurality of spaced apertures 29 in strap 26 so that strap 27 can overlap strap 26 to any desired extent.
