776,994. Laminated material. PERFORIT, Ltd. Dec. 7, 1955 [Dec. 7, 1954], No. 35437/54. Class 140. [Also in Group X] A sound - absorbing panel or tile consists of a layer of soft fibre board 2 in which are blind holes 8 joined (e.g. by gluing) to a harder layer 4 of, for example, hard fibre board,plywood or metal through which are smaller holes 10 communicating with the blind holes. The blind holes may be filled with loose sound-absorbing material such as glass fibre. The panel may have fixing screws 18 passing through the bottom of the blind holes and a washer 20 covering substantially the whole of the bottom of the holes. The heads of the screws are preferably larger than the holes 10 and the screws may be self-tapping.
