Abstract

776,848. Ditch-cleaning apparatus. CUMBRIAN IMPLEMENT CO., Ltd. March 26, 1956 [May 24, 1955], No. 14960/55. Class 68 (1). A shovel-like tool or blade 5 of a ditchcleaning apparatus is pivotally mounted at 6 on and can be locked by a locking device 7, 8, 9 at different angles to a jib part 2, in turn pivotally mounted at 3 on a jib part 1 that can be mounted on, for raising and lowering, by a power-operated mechanism on a tractor. A spring-loaded locking device 4 can lock the parts 1 and 2 of the jib together when said parts are in alignment. The locking device 7, 8, 9 comprises an extensible strut formed by two relatively slidable parts 7, 8 of which one 7 carries a spring-biased or gravity-actuated latch that can engage one of a number of openings in the other part 8. Both locking devices can be released by pull strings 13, 14 from the operator's position on the tractor.
