Abstract

776,767. Agricultural implements. HARGREAVES & CO., Ltd., W. Jan. 11, 1955 [May 19, 1954], No. 14645/54. Class 6(1). A turf-slitter has the spacing members for the slitter discs each formed as a coil spring having end coils spaced apart by a connecting portion, a handle being clamped to the axle of the device between the discs. The slitter disc assemblies comprise discs 13 having bearing hubs 15 attached to either side by means of rivets 16, and are spaced apart on the axle 10 by means of springs such as that shown in Fig. 3, end location for the complete assembly being provided by the insertion of split pins 11 in the ends of the axle. The axle is formed at each end with an area of reduced diameter 19 in order that it may be mounted on the frame member described in Specification 776,765.
