Abstract

776,753. Copy-turning. MONO PUMPS, Ltd. Aug. 11, 1955 [Aug. 11, 1954], No. 23340/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 83 (3). A method of turning helical pump-rotors comprises rotating a workpiece about its own axis at a speed of n revolutions whilst this axis is rotated about an offset axis at a speed of n Œ 1 revolutions, and feeding a tool along the work in such a way that n is the number of revolutions performed for a tool advance equal to the helical pitch of the rotor, the speeds of the work about said axis being variable over a wide range, e.g. from 300 to 1000 revolutions in the time to traverse the pitch p. The apparatus is similar to that described in Specification 776,754. Specification 400,508, [Group XXVI], also is referred to.
