Abstract

776,560. Mine roof supports. LINSINGEN, M. VON, [trading as BOCHUMER EISENHUTTE HEINTZMANN & CO.]. Oct 5, 1954 [Oct. 14, 1953], No. 28642/54. Class 20(2) A mine arch support or pit prop is provided with a footplate detachably connected thereto by a readily shearable connection which enables the support or prop to be separated from the footplate if this becomes buried in the mine floor. A footplate 4, Fig. 4, for a mine arch support of obtuse angled channel shaped cross section is provided with lugs 7 bent upwardly to embrace the webs of the support. The readily shearable connection between the footplate and the support is constituted by a split pin 9 which passes with considerable clearance through bores 8 in the lugs 7 and through corresponding bores in the mine arch support. The footplate has three coplanar supporting surfaces 6 corresponding to the side webs and base of arch support channel member and the central part 5 of the footplate is domed.
