Abstract
776,149. Couplings. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 4, 1954 [Oct. 2, 1953], No. 27058/53. Class 38 (1). A composition for reducing the joint resistance between conductors formed from metal or alloy liable to form an oxide skin on exposure to the atmosphere consists essentially of an aqueous or non-aqueous solution of an inorganic boro-fluoride. For example a concentrated solution of ammonium borofluoride in a commercial wetting agent may be used. To lengthen the time during which the joint should be completed after application of the composition to the conductors, the composition may be emulsified with oils, greases or soaps and may comprise for example: or:
