Abstract

776,020. Cow-milkers. ALFA-LAVAL CO., Ltd. Dec. 30, 1955 [Jan. 6, 1955], No. 410/55. Class 84. [Also in Group XXIX] The main body of a milk claw opens upwards and is covered by a transparent dome or disc for observation of milk flow. The main body 1 has pulse nipples 2, 3, 4, 5 connected to pulse tubes 6, 7, milk inlet nipples 8 and outlet 9 connecting directly to the main compartment. The cover may be a dome 12 held down on a sealing ring 13 by a wire bail 14. Alternatively, the cover may be a flat disc 16 held onto the main body 1 by a moulded rubber ring 18 clamping over a flange 17 of the main body, or a dome 20 with a flange 21 of graduated circumferential thickness with notches 22 in. the flange. The notches pass over pins projecting radially inwards on the main body and the cover is then turned so that the thicker portion of the flange is clamped down by the pins. This dome may be provided with serrated projections 23 for ease of gripping, and a depression 24 to receive a wire bail.
