Abstract

682,043. Cow milkers. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. Dec. 11, 1950 [Dec. 22, 1949], No. 30234/50. Class 84 A milking machine unit having a removable cover for a milk-receiving receptacle has in said cover a liquid trap communicating with a suction pipe. The liquid trap 18 is preferably formed integrally with the milk receptacle cover 12 which is pressed to form a hemispherical depression 19 and a flared re-entrant portion 21 narrowing to an opening 25. Preferably the portion 21 is offset from the axis of the depression 19 and has the opening 25 as near as possible to the centre of the trap 18. The upper portion 27 of the trap is sealed to the cover by a rubber ring 29. Suction is applied to the milk receptacle through chamber 32<SP>1</SP>, check valve 39 and opening 37.
