Abstract

775,834. Filters. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Sept. 23, 1955 [Nov. 17, 1954], No. 27230/55. Class 46. End pleats 12, 14 Fig. 4 of a corrugated sheet of resin impregnated filter paper are secured together to form an annular filter element by first introducing a bead of liquid cement 16 into the valley of end pleat 14, overlapping the ends of the pleats so that the end fold of pleat 12 contacts the bead 16 and then laying a strip of bonding tape 18 substantially along the whole length of the valley of the end pleat 12 adjacent the end fold of pleat 14 and finally depositing a bead of liquid cement 20 adjacent the bonding tape 18. The end pleats are then placed under heat and pressure to effect curing and adhesion of the pleats 12, 14 as shown in Fig. 5.
