775,096. Rolling. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Jan. 14, 1955 [Jan. 14, 1954; May 12, 1954], Nos. 1158/54 and 13959/54. Class 83 (4). In a cold rolling mill small diameter work rolls 3, 4 are supported with their axes in a plane inclined to the plane containing the axes of the backing rolls 1, 2. The supports comprise pads 16, engaging the roll faces and mounted on blocks 14 which rest in concave recesses 10 of cross-members 8 of a frame 5. Lubrication is provided for the rolls through bores 20 in the blocks 14 and pipes 19 in the frame. Bearing pads 21 in the frame 5 engage the ends of the work rolls which are driven by the backing rolls.
