A seed propagation cabinet comprises a base 1 slotted at 13 so as to allow the entry of air into the cabinet, together with end and side uprights 2, 3 grooved as at 4 to receive vertical and horizontal sheets of transparent material such as glass which enclose the upper part of the cabinet. Below the seed trays 8, 9 which are formed and placed in the cabinet so as to permit the free passage of air around them, are located a trough of water 11 and a heating element 12, the latter being controlled by a thermostat 14 which can be inserted in any one of a plurality of holes 15 in one of the side battens 3 so as to be capable of controlling the heater in accordance with the various conditions required by the seeds or seedlings in their different stages of growth,
