Abstract
372,167. Hatching-appliances. CONSTANTINE, H., Lower Stanningley Poultry Farm, Mixenden, Halifax, Yorkshire. July 17, 1931, No. 20478. [Class 5 (ii).] Temperature indicating means in an incubator, normally positioned in close proximity to the eggs, is adapted when desired to be moved to a viewing position near to a window in the side of the incubator. The incubator, which has a canvas heat shield 9 secured to the lower part of a frame over the egg tray 2 is provided with a thermometer 3 suspended from a link 12 pivoted to a slide 13 adapted to be moved by a rod or wire 15 passing through the wall of the incubator. The slide rides on guides 18 and by actuating the rod 15 may be moved to bring the thermometer to a position when its reading can be seen through a window 7. Individual egg trays in an incubator may each be provided with temperature indicating means as above.
