Abstract

410,414. Rearing-appliances. ELLIS, R., Standard Works, Port Street, Annan, Dumfriesshire. Nov. 7, 1933, No. 30973. [Class 5 (ii).] A brooder comprises an internal sleeping chamber, canopy or hover which can be travelled horizontally along stationary supporting members provided within the brood chamber. A covered frame a carrying a bag c filled with feathers, down or the like, and curtains d, is suspended by threaded forked pins e, whereby the hover is adjustable vertically, from bearing rails j, the pins e being fitted with rollers g engaging flanges on such rails. Stop rods r, having hooks at their upper ends and bent at right angles at their lower ends, engage the roof and floor netting to position the hover. Alternatively, the hover may be suspended by rings strung on rods or wires. The brooder may be constructed similarly to that described in Specification 367,499.
