Abstract
774,363. Centrifugal fans. AMERICAN RADIATOR & STANDARD SANITARY CORPORATION. Nov. 8, 1955 [April 22, 1955], No. 31933/55. Class 110 (1). A cylindrical fan rotor comprises a number of spaced parallel rings from which project a series of fastener elements, a number of arcuate sheets positioned on the rings with apertures therein in registry with the fastener elements, the latter being deformed to secure the sheets to the rings, and blades projecting from the sheets. Two semi-cylindrical sheet aluminium members 7, 8, Figs. 1 and 6, are formed with stamped-out blades 30, Figs. 1 and 7, and four inwardly-extending stiffener walls 27. The members 7, 8 are supported by rings 2-5 which are formed with tabs 16, 17, 18, 19 and cars 20, 21, 22, 23. The tabs and ears project through holes 25 and slots 26 formed in the walls 27, as shown in the upper half of Fig. 6, and are deformed as shown in the lower half of Fig. G to secure the members 7, 8 to the rings. A stub shaft 12 is fixed to a hub 11 riveted to the ring 2. A flexible coupling 15 is riveted to the ring 5.
