Class 102(1) A dispensing-device for liquids or semiliquids comprises an inflow chamber 1 open at one end to a source of liquid and closed at the other by a wall formed by a ring 4 held between the chamber 1 and a transfer chamber 2. The stem 9 of a piston unit is slidable in a flange extension of the ring 4 which is recessed to accommodate with axial clearance a flange 13 of the piston stem. A flexible cup washer 8 has a flange 11 which is accommodated with radial and axial clearance on the piston stem between the flange 13 and an upper flange 12; during upward movement of the piston unit liquid flows from the chamber 1 through these clearances and recesses 15 in the flange 13 to the chamber a. The chamber a communicates by passages 17 with a passage 16 having a conical seat 18 closed by a conical projection 31 on a piston 20 on the upstroke. The piston 20 is slidable in the chamber 2 and carries a hand knob 24 and an outlet nozzle 27 which . communicates with the upper surface of the piston 20 by a passage 28, so that on upward movement liquid in the chamber 2 is ejected from the nozzle 27. Return movement is effected by springs 19, 30 which cause the washer to seal on the upper flange 12, liquid to be ejected from the chamber a to the chamber 2 and the piston 20 to return to its lower position. The passage 28 may include means to cause air and liquid in the chamber 2 to emulsify on ejection. In a modification the piston 20 is replaced by a plunger which engages the end of the stem 9 on the up stroke and on the down stroke the stem 9 ejects liquid from a nozzle in the chamber 2.
