773,198. Photographic gas-development apparatus. HALL HARDING, Ltd. Jan. 21, 1955 [Feb. 19, 1954], No. 5002/54. Class 98(2) In an apparatus for the ammonia gas development of diazotype prints, two tanks are provided each having an apertured or perforated face, the faces being in closely spaced relation, and the prints are passed hetween the faces by placing them between two vapour-passing belts which together pass over and between the said faces. Ammonia gas is generated in each tank and passes through the apertures or perforations and through the belts to contact the sheets on both sides. The belts may be perforated or made of porous material, or they may be divided into a number of parallel narrow bands with spaces in between. As shown, the tanks 2 and 3 each have one open face between which the perforated belts 15, 16 are passed by means of rollers 10, 11 and 12, 13. Ammonia is vaporized in trays 4 by heaters 5. The prints 26 are fed in on the guide 20 and deflected at the top by roller 22 so that they fall behind tank 3 into a delivery shoot 24. Specification 401,406 is referred to.
