Abstract
749,020. Photographic developing apparatus. OZALID CO., Ltd. Dec. 9, 1954 [Dec. 11, 1953], No. 25192/63. Class 98 (2). Apparatus in which prints are developed by ammonia vapour while being passed over the perforated surface of an evaporating tank by an endless impervious conveyer belt, and which is provided with a further endless belt or belts meeting the conveyer belt so that the prints after developement may be carried upwards between the two belts for delivery to a tray positioned above the conveyer belt, is provided also with guiding means across the gap between the side of the tank and the forwarding run of the delivery belt, these means being designed to avoid risk of a print, which has become curled during development, failing to make contact with the delivery belt, and being such as to provide line contacts with the under surface of the developed prints. As shown, the impervious conveyer belt 13 running around rollers 14, 15, 16 over the perforated surface 12 meets the delivery belt 18 (which may comprise a plurality of thin side-by-side belts) running around rollers 19, 20, 21, 22 at the left of the tank, and guiding means constituting a series of thin plates 25 supported on a rod 26 occupy the gap between the tank and the delivery belt, the plates 25 being parallel to the run of the belts. Parallel wires or longitudinal projections of a metal plate may replace the plates 25. These several means have a minimum tendency to condense water vapour from the tank and so stain the prints. Specification 645,895 is referred to.
