771,114. Shoe bottom presses. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. (United Shoe Machinery Corporation). July 22, 1954 [July 23, 1953], No. 20422/53. Class 17 (1). [Also in Group VIII] A laminate formed by uniting a layer of leather 12a, Fig. 7, with a protective covering layer of polythene 22a (see Group VIII) is moulded to the contour shown and is united, by means of a synthetic rubber cement applied to the leather surface, to a moulded rubber part 64 having a projection 66 on its bottom portion for engagement with a recess 68, Fig. 8, in a profile sole-pressing pad 44. The pad 44 is supported in a pad box 46 including an articulated metal frame 70 and a fluid-filled rubber container 72. The polythene-leatherrubber pad cover has the margin at the forepart portion 48, Fig. 7, retained beneath a mask plate 50, Fig. 8, and the heelward margins 56, Fig. 7, disposed beneath clips 58, Fig. 8.
