Abstract

769,020. Washing granular material. WESTFALIA DINNENDAHL GROPPEL AKT.-GES. June 8, 1954 [June 8, 1953], No. 16742/54. Class 82(2) Apparatus for concentrating minerals by sink-and-float separation comprises a rotating drum tapering conically in the direction of floats discharge and having scoops for the removal of both sunk and floating products, the scoops discharging into separate shoots and plates being provided to isolate the scoops for removing sunk products from the remainder of the surface of the liquid. As shown, the drum 1 has scoops 5 for removing floating material from the narrower diameter end of the drum and depositing the material in a shoot 8, and scoops 4 for removing sunk material and depositing it in a shoot 7. Plates 9 prevent floating material from being collected by the scoops 4. Raw material is fed in through shoot 6 and the drum is rotated on rollers 2 by a motor 3.
