Abstract

767,557. Filters. BLANKEVOORT & ZOON, N.V., D. March 11, 1955, No. 7207/55. Class 46. Wet sand or the like 2 is fed from a hopper 1 by a shovel wheel 4, rotated e.g. by the weight of falling material, onto an endless conveyer belt 8 the conveying portion 5 of which is constrained to assume a channel section by rollers (not shown) and has water extracted from it by a filter member 10 comprising cotton wool, silicate cotton or the like confined between two coaxial gauze-covered perforated tubes 10 extending over the length of the portion 5. The extraction is effected by a suction pump 16 connected to a container 14 having also a suction pump 18 for accumulated water. The level of water and degree of vacuum are controlled by a device 19 controlling a contact for operating the pump 18.
