Abstract

767,329. Date and time printing-apparatus. WALKER, J. V. July 22, 1955 [July 23, 1954], No. 21554/54. Class 100(2) In a date and time printing device, the impression hammer 5 is pivotally mounted beneath the type wheels 2 and is actuated by the closing of an electric switch when the paper to be printed is inserted in the device. The type wheels 2 driven by a mechanism 3 are mounted on the frame 4. The printing hammer 5 is pivoted on a bracket 6, carries a rubber impression pad 8, and is weighted at 7 and by an arm 9. On inserting paper or other similar material to be printed against a trigger lever 12, the latter through a trip lever 14 acts on a strip 21 to close a micro-switch 15, whereupon a solenoid 10 swings the hammer upwardly to print the date and time. An arm 20 on the solenoid acts on the lever 14 to release the strip 21 and open the switch. On removal of the paper, the levers 12, 14 return to their initial positions. The movement of the hammer 5 actuates by means of a link 23 spools 24 carrying an ink-ribbon passing across the type wheels.
