Abstract

766,668. Heat exchangers. UNITED KING- DOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. June 6, 1955 [March 5, 1954], No. 6424/54. Class 64(3) - A heat exchanger comprises a mass of sintered ceramic substance such as alumina, beryllia, or silicon carbide, having formed therein two groups of passages, the passages of one group extending transversely e.g. at right angles, to those of the other group the passages of each group being mutually parallel and all the said passages being arranged in layers with layers of one group alternating with those of the other group, headers making connection with the ends of the passages of the separate groups being provided. A method of making the heat exchanger is described.
