[Also in Group XL(b)] A dielectric window DW between input and output waveguides WGI, WGO, which may be at the output of a magnetron or klystron, lies in a plane perpendicular to the direction of the electric field of the dominant mode energy passing through the guides. In a modification, Fig. 3, the window DW<1> is in the form of a tube sealed at one end by a metal plate MD. In a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) the output guide is bent back on and then curves away from the input guide. Choke ditches CD and impedance matching irises (not shown) may be provided.
