Abstract

765,637. Plucking poultry. McKENDREE, S. W. March 14, 1955 [April 5, 1954], No. 7414/55. Class 28(2) Feathers are plucked out by integral tapering projections 8 of a rubber drum, which is sufficiently elastic so that the projections 8 are pressed flatwise against the drum surface in use. The drum is provided with transverse apertures or bores 9 which increase the elasticity. The drum is clamped on a spindle 3 rotated by the chuck of a portable electric drill or by another drive.
