[Also in Groups XIV, XXV and XL(c)] A mounting bracket for securing by means of a lashing to a chimney 32 or the like comprises members 10, 20 having portions adapted to extend partially around the chimney or the like and having portions adapted to engage and grip a mast or other member, such for instance, as part of an aerial, when tension is applied, by means of a lashing wire or the like extending around the chimney or the like, to the first mentioned portions. The members 10, 20 are identical and each has two limbs 11, 13, 21, 23 arranged in V-formation. The free end of each limb is bent around an arc of a circle corresponding approximately to the radius of curvature of the mast 30 or other part and the limbs 11, 21 have apertures 12, 22 which receive the ends of the limbs 13, 23 so that the bent portions of the limbs substantially encircle the mast or other part. Each of the members is provided with an apertured lug 15, 25 at the apex of the limbs, the lugs being apertured to receive screwthreaded J-bolts 16, 26 to which the wire lashing or the like is attached. The wire lashing or the like is tensioned by nuts 17, 27 on the J-bolts to attach the members 10, 20 to the chimney or the like. This tensioning also causes the members 10, 20 to pivot using the mast or other part as a fulcrum and causes the bent portions at the ends of each of the limbs to grip the mast or other part. The grip of the bent portions can be increased by the provision of additional clamping bolts between the extremities of the portions. If desired the two members 10, 20 can be connected together temporarily by a sheer pin or member such as a wire which is deformed when tension is applied to the lashing wire or the like.
