The end turns of adjacent rows of upholstery springs are connected by flexible strips 1 of rubber or equivalent plastics material with open edges between which the spring turns are inserted and subsequently secured, the assembly having border frame wires 8 embedded in a similar flexible strip secured to the peripheral springs, the upper and lower border strips being preferably connected by a web.
