A roll edge has a core of spring wire 22 bent to form two opposed longitudinal series of jaws 24, 26 forming a C-sectioned clamp. The wire core is covered by strips of padding 30, 32 enclosed by a covering strip 34 and on forcing the slotted side of the roll edge over the border wire or frame of an assembly of upholstery springs 4 it is held in place by the resilience of the wire jaws.
