Abstract

A dyestuff preparation, suitable for dyeing fibres of cellulose esters or ethers, polyamides or polyurethanes, contains as the dyeing constituents a mixture of 1 : 4 - diamino - anthraquinone and a 1 : 4 - di - (alkylamino) - anthraquinone. Preferably, the preparation also contains a 1 - amino - 4 - alkylamino - anthraquinone as a third dyeing constituent. The alkyl groups may be substituted by, for example, alkoxy or hydroxyl groups, and preferably the two alkyl groups of the dialkylamino anthraquinone and that of the 1 - amino - 4 - alkylamino - anthraquinone are identical. Specified alkyl groups are methyl, ethyl, n - propyl, isopropyl, nbutyl, sec-butyl, tert.-butyl, b - oxyethyl, g - oxypropyl and b : g - dioxypropyl. The preparation may also contain wetting or dispersing agents such as sulphite cellulose waste liquor. Dyeing may be effected in aqueous dispersion with the addition of wetting agents such as a soap, an N - benzyl - m - heptadecyl - benzimidazole sulphonic acid or a condensation product of taurine or methyltaurine with a fatty acid. Examples describe the dying of cellulose acetate fibres.
