Abstract

762,278. Piling materials. JARUZA AKT.- GES. CHUR. May 21, 1953, No. 14261/53. Class 78 (4). Material is fed to a circular stock pile by a substantially radially disposed endless conveyer belt 6, Fig. 1, arranged both for endwise movement and for movement about the vertical axis of the stock pile for distributing the material. In the arrangement illustrated in Fig. 1 the conveyer 6 is carried by a supporting frame 8 at one side of a mast 7 and is capable of a longitudinal movement as indicated at 11 and of inclination as indicated at 12. A vertically moving counterbalance for the conveyer 6 is provided on the mast. Material is carried to the conveyer 6 by a fixed conveyer 3 fed by a bin 1 and discharging on to a helical shoot 5 disposed above the conveyer 6. The conveyer 3 can also deliver to a conveyer 4 carrying material away from the pile. Material is delivered from the pile through a conical chamber 13 which delivers to a conveyer 15 feeding the bin 1 so that the conveyers 3 and 4 may be employed to carry the material away. A scraper conveyer 18 may be employed to deliver material to the chamber 13 and may be raised and lowered by a cable 20 and winch 21 about a heel pivot carried by a platform 19 which is mounted for movement about the mast 7, as also is the winch 21. The conveyer 18 may be detached from its heel pivots and stowed in a vertical position on the mast 7. In alternative constructions the mast 7 terminates in suitable bearings on the lower side of the frame 8 so that the conveyer 6 may be disposed on the axis of the mast. If the conveyer 6 is not mounted for movement in a vertical plane it may deliver to a shoot suspended from the outer end of the conveyer frame and shaped to slow down the fall of the material. Walls 17 may confine the pile and the arrangement may deliver material to a bin which may be divided by radial walls into compartments. Where the conveyer 6 delivers to a bin it may be mounted solely by means disposed on the upper edges of the walls of the bin. In the construction illustrated in Fig. 8 a conveyer 33 is carried by a carriage 32 which moves along a slewing jib 30 and carries a spiral shoot 34 by which material is delivered from the conveyer 33 to a pile surrounding the mast 29 by which the jib is supported. Material is delivered to the conveyer 33 by a further conveyer 35 mounted in the jib and fed by a fixed conveyer which may alternatively deliver to a spiral shoot 36 carried by the mast.
