[Also in Group XXXIV] A device for lubricating a spindle 6 driven by means of a worm 5 and worm-wheel 4 comprises a sleeve 1 rotating about a substantially vertical axis and surrounded by a cup-shaped member 2 which at the bottom has a frusto-conical wall T and a central hole o, the arrangement being such that as the sleeve 1 rotates liquid from an oil bath H passes up through the hole along a passage P and moves upwardly along the inner wall of the sleeve 1. The passage p may also have an inner frusto-conical wall formed by a support 7 for the spindle 6, and the lower edge of the sleeve 1 may be frusto-conical. Specification 711,649 is referred to.
