Abstract

760,625. Spectacles. JAMESON, Ltd., W. and JAMESON, W. May 9, 1955 [May 10, 1954], No. 13583/54. Class 97(1) In an ophthalmic mounting wherein the lenses 14 are secured to the associated fittings by securing members passing through holes in the lenses and holes in the httings, the securing members comprise pin members 16 composed of soft tough plastic material such as nylon, each pin member having its ends integral or attached enlargement's between which the lens and fitting are gripped. The pin members may have preformed heads 17. After insertion the rear ends may be spread by heat and/or pressure to form heads 18. Alternatively collars may be shrunk on to the rear ends of pins 16, and the collars may have ribs or projections to bite into the pins.
