Abstract
1372417 Spectacles A T DOWIE 1 Jan 1973 [30 Sept 1971] 45490/71 Heading G2J In a pair of spectacles one arm 12 may be folded on the front side of the front frame, and the two arms 11, 12 are so dimensioned as to close off the lens apertures when folded, so that a spectacle case is not needed. The arm 12 is hinged to a member 25 which is mounted on a pin at the end portion 20 of one lens aperture 22. The other arm 11 is hinged to the end portion 19 of the other lens aperture 21. The end portions 19, 20 may be removable to allow a lens to be inserted in each aperture 21, 22. The arms 11 and 12 may carry rubber stops 26, 27 for engagement with the temples of a wearer. These stops 26, 27 may also engage frictionally with members 25, 19 respectively when the spectacles are folded. The spectacles may have a pocket clip of the type used on fountain pens. The spectacles may be of the "half-eye" type; they may be made of moulded plastics material.
