Abstract

873,044. Goggles. STERNE, W. F., and BRIGHT, R. A. Oct. 28, 1959, No. 36653/59. Class 97(1) A pair of goggles comprises an oblong lens member 10 having a central notch 21 to accommodate the wearer's nose, an open-ended frame member 11 extending about the lens member and terminating adjacent the lower ends of said notch, and a supplemental frame member 20, preferably of a softer material than the other frame member, to follow the contour of the notch; the two frame members form a continuous rim about the lens member and their rear edges are contoured to fit the wearer's face. The two frame members may be cemented together or joined in the way shown in Fig. 4. In this latter embodiment the lens member is provided with two notches 12 (only one shown) which engage notches 25 in the supplemental frame member 25 and hook-like recesses 17, 16 in the open-ended frame member.
