Abstract

699,465. Goggles. KUSTOW, L. Jan. 24, 1951, No. 1859/51. Class 97 (i). In goggles comprising a transparent window held in front of the eyes and across the bridge of the nose by a frame contoured to fit the upper part of the face of the wearer, the window, or the frame or both window and frame are provided with a flange against which the other member is held by releasable inter-engaging means. As shown, the window a has a rearwardly directed flange a<SP>2</SP> into which the front portion of the frame b is pressed and held by its own resilience, projections b<SP>3</SP> on the frame engaging slots a<SP>3</SP> on the flange to hold the members together. The window has a re-entrant portion in its lower edge to accommodate the nose which portion may be surrounded by soft plastic beading. Alternatively an inwardly directed flange may be provided on the front portion of the frame having lugs' or slots engaging complementary formations on the window.
