Abstract

A fastener is used to secure lenses to the plastics frame of a pair of clear glasses or sunglasses. it does not require any welding of the fastener. The frame (3, 4) has a shoulder (6) to take a lens (2). Each lens (2) has two clips (7) to hold the lenses in the frame (3). Each clip (7) has a straight part (7a) which is force fitted into the frame (4). Each clip (7) also has a lug to take a small screw (8) and nut (12). The screw (8) is fitted into a plastics sleeve lining a hole in the lens (2). A plastics washer is placed between the lug and the lens (2). The clips (7) are 'U' shaped.
