Abstract

759,943. Circlips. ROLLS-ROYCE, Ltd. March 1, 1955 [March ], 1954], No. 6003/54. Class 89 (2). A circlip is defined by inner and outer circles struck from centres Y, X, respectively, the distance therebetween being such that the centre of gravity of the circlip lies at the centre X. The clip is to be seated in a groove in a bore of a shaft so that centre X is coincident with the axis of rotation of the shaft. The clip is split at P and tool-engaging holes Q are provided adjacent the ends. The outer periphery may be chamfered on a radius struck from centre Z, the three centres being located on a diameter which bisects the split P.
