A powder mixer comprises a mixing chamber having a cylindrical central portion 1 from each end of which a frusto-conical portion 2 or 3 extends the base angles a and b of the portions differing. The smaller ends are fitted with removable closures 4, 5. Trunnions 6 are mounted in bearings in a frame 7 to enable the mixer to be rotated by an electric motor or other drive.
