Abstract

Spinning nozzles are made of an alloy comprising 10-30 per cent iridium, 0-5 per cent other metal of the platinum group, the balance being platinum. The other metal of the platinum group may be rhodium, e.g. 3 per cent, or palladium, e.g. 4 per cent. The nozzles may be subjected to a heat treatment to harden the alloy.ALSO:Spinning nozzles are made of an alloy comprising 10-30 per cent iridium, 0-5 per cent other metal of the platinum group, the balance being platinum.
