[Class 82 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A make-and-break contact consists of a body portion 1 of a refractory metal from the tungsten molybdenum group with a contact face 2 pre-dominantly of rhodium. The rhodium may be applied electrolytically, by spraying, condensing or by other means, and it is then heated so that diffusion of the facing 2 into the body 1 occurs. The rhodium may be associated with smaller quantities of palladium, platinum or iridium.
