756,342. Anatomical models. BLAINE, G. June 22, 1954.[April 21, 1953], No. 10990/53. Class 146(2) An anatomical model comprising the femal pelvic cavity and birth canal, at least in part, is both transparent and at least slightly flexible. Polyacrylate, polyvinyl resin or polythene sheeting, or polyester resins may be used, and the model formed from a single casting by pressing the heated material to shape, by fixing heated pieces of the material to shaped struts, or by pouring liquid resin into a mould. The construction shown is formed from a single strut, and is adjusted in size by means of screw means 2. The model may be coloured to represent details of the human body, in particular the shapes and sizes of bones may be marked on the outside. Stump thighs may be fitted. A diagrammatic uterus and foetus formed of flexible transparent plastic may be inserted.
